Curriculum

Our high school is recognized by Karnataka Government and it is a Kannada-medium School, following the State curriculum.

PART – A

  • First language – Kannada
  • Second language –English
  • Third language – Hindi
  • Other Subjects – Science, Mathematics and Social Science

PART – B

We also conduct classes in Physical Education, Computers and Drawing.

In our school, students are divided into groups called Ganga, Narmada, Kaveri and Sindhu. All the school work is managed neatly by these four houses as per the Schedule.

Every Friday, the last period is devoted to cultural programs, which is a platform to bring out the hidden talents in the children.

Additional special classes are conducted for the students of the 10th Standard to give them special attention and prepare them to score high marks in the Annual Board Examination.  As a result of the efforts put in by our students and teachers, our 10th Standard Board Examination results have been around 98 % for last several years.

Guidelines for Students and Parents

Students enrolled in Class VIII and their parents/guardians must agree to abide by the following norms, for the betterment of their childrens’/wards’ educational future.

  • Attending school on time every day. Habitually coming late to the school or class will be treated as a serious disciplinary issue.
  • Students should follow discipline in school. Students are strictly prohibited from wearing sleeveless tops, T-shirts, Jeans and low waist trousers.
  • Out of the total number of days that the school has functioned, 75% attendance is a must for promotion to the next class. In exceptional cases, the departmental rules shall be followed.
  • Students are not allowed to be absent from school without reason. They are allowed to be absent from classes only with the permission of the school class teacher and headmaster.
  • Instead of planning trips for religious pilgrimage etc. during the school term, they should be planned during the summer vacation.
  • If the student leaves the school in the middle of the term, all fees spent by the school on the student must be refunded
  • In case of any unforeseen health issues, parents should meet the principal and explain the reason
  • Appropriate action will be taken if any behavior is found to be in violation of school rules and discipline
  • Visit the school regularly to discuss the child’s progress with the class teacher.
  • Mobile phones cannot be used.
  • If a child shows any of the symptoms of Corona like fever, chills, cough, headache etc, it will be brought to the attention of the parents and they will be sent home and the students will maintain social distance.
  • It is mandatory to adhere to all school rules.

Each student has to declare as under:
As a student of Srivali High School, I shall,

  • scrupulously follow all rules and regulations laid down by the school, and adhere strictly to the dress code.
  • maintain cleanliness, decency and decorum in my appearance, speech and deeds.
  • not touch anything that doesn’t belong to me, and hand over the article to the class teacher or head mistress if I do not know who the rightful owner is.
  • respect School property as if it is my own and keep the school premises neat and tidy.
  • be bold, cheerful, smiling, confident and take part in all the curricular and co-curricular activities of the school.
  • be polite and courteous when I deal with others at all places and be helpful to them.
  • respect elders, teachers and any stranger I happen to meet.
  • always be proud of my school and shall so grow that the school should also be proud of me.

Uniform & Dress Code

Boys and Girls School Uniform:

Class VIII to X Boys – Maroon pants & cream colour shirt with yellow stripes.

Girls – Maroon & Yellow striped chudidhar.

 Boys and girls – Belt and ID Card

Dress Code: The students are expected to wear the prescribed school uniform on all working days. However, on children’s day and days permitted for special occasions they are expected to follow prescribed dress code strictly.

a) Girls to wear Churidars / Punjabi Suits with long tops and Dupatta. No sleeveless tops are allowed.

b) Students are strictly prohibited from wearing T-shirts, Jeans and low-waist trousers.

Attendance & Leave of absence

Attendance: Regular attendance in classes is a must for promotion. A student will not be promoted to the higher classes if his/her attendance falls below 75%.  Exceptionally valid cases only will be condoned to a maximum extent of 10 % shortage.

Leave Application: For every absence, a written statement signed by the parent or guardian is required on the day the pupil returns. If the student is absent for more than three days for reasons of ill health, a certificate from a doctor is required stating illness and fitness.

A student requiring leave from school for any part of a day on account of sudden illness or such unavoidable circumstances, should obtain the permission of the class teacher and principal before leaving the school.  An Absence record signed by a parent or a guardian needs to be submitted on the next working day.

A student, who is late, should carry an explanatory note from the parent or guardian.

Student will not be allowed to leave the school premises during the school hours unless parents/guardians come personally to take them home.

Applications for leave during the beginning/last few days of any term will not be entertained. If, owing to any illness, a pupil needs such leave, he/she must obtain a medical certificate and submit the same to the school authorities.

School Fees

Students are not charged any school fees.

Re-Admission

All the students, who have enrolled themselves for the 8th std. will be promoted to the next class.

In case of failure of a student in the 9th class, re admission will be allowed to the same class for another year only.
